Frontier Companion — Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 12, 2026

Frontier Companion is designed to work offline and with minimal data use.

Publisher

This app is published by ohmmycode.dev. Any reference to "we," "us," or "our" in this policy refers to the publisher. Contact details are provided at the end of this page.

What data we collect

The app does not require user accounts and does not collect personal information (such as name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, or location).

On app startup, the app makes one API request to a third-party hit counter service (counterapi.dev) to increment an anonymous download counter. This request is used only for aggregate statistics and is not used by us to identify individual users.

Permissions requested by the app

The app requests only the permissions strictly required for its functionality, primarily internet access for the startup counter request. The app does not request access to your contacts, photos, microphone, camera, calendar, location, or other sensitive device data.

Where your operating system displays a permission prompt, the purpose is made clear at the time of the request, and you may decline.

Internet usage

After the startup counter request, the app does not require internet access for core functionality.

The app includes optional links in Settings (for example, website or support links). If you tap these links, they open in your device browser and are then handled by the browser and destination website.

Server logs

The startup counter request is received by counterapi.dev, not by a server we operate. As with any HTTP request, counterapi.dev's infrastructure may automatically record standard request metadata such as the IP address, timestamp, and User-Agent header. We do not control this collection and do not receive this metadata.

Any handling of that request data is governed by counterapi.dev's own privacy policy, available at counterapi.dev/privacy-policy. We only ever see the resulting aggregate counter value, which cannot be used to identify individual users.

Local data stored on your device

Settings, preferences, and any in-app state you create are stored locally on your device. This data is not transmitted to us through the app.

Uninstalling the app removes this local data, subject to your operating system's backup behavior described below.

Third-party services and SDKs

The app does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, attribution, or tracking SDKs.

The app uses one third-party service: counterapi.dev, a hit counter API operated from Berlin, Germany. On startup, a single HTTP request is sent to this service to increment an anonymous download counter. No personal data, account information, or device identifiers are sent in this request beyond the standard HTTP metadata described under "Server logs" above. Use of counterapi.dev is governed by their own privacy policy and terms of service.

Crash reports and diagnostics

The app does not include third-party crash reporting or diagnostics SDKs.

Your operating system (iOS or Android) may offer to share crash and usage diagnostics with the platform vendor and, optionally, with developers. This is controlled entirely by you in your device settings and is independent of the app.

App store and platform data

The app stores (such as the Apple App Store and Google Play) and your device operating system may collect data such as install counts, crash reports, or device identifiers under their own privacy policies. We do not control that collection. Please refer to the relevant store and operating system privacy policies for details.

Backups

Your operating system may include app data in its own backups (for example, iCloud Backup or Google Drive backup). These backups are controlled by you through your device settings and are subject to your platform provider's privacy policy, not ours.

Data sharing

We do not sell personal data.

We do not share personal data with third parties through the app. The only third-party request made by the app is the anonymous counter request to counterapi.dev, described above.

Data retention

The startup counter is stored as aggregate usage data only.

No in-app user profile or account data is stored.

Security

Network requests made by the app are sent over HTTPS (TLS). Because no personal data, accounts, or credentials are involved, no additional authentication is required.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we apply reasonable technical measures appropriate to the limited scope of data involved.

Children's privacy

The app is not specifically directed at children, and it is not enrolled in a "Designed for Families" or "Made for Kids" program on any app store. However, because the app does not collect personal data from any user, contains no advertising, and runs no analytics or behavioral tracking, it does not present the data-collection risks that age restrictions are typically intended to address. As such, the app may be used by younger players as a companion to the game.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal data to us through any channel related to this app, please contact us using the email address below and we will take appropriate action.

Your rights

Even though the app does not collect personal data, applicable laws — such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the EU/EEA and the UK, and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) in California — may grant you rights regarding personal data, including rights to access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, and objection.

If you believe we hold personal data about you, or if you wish to exercise any of these rights, you may contact us using the email address below.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
